Dryden is located on the Trans Canada Highway and is about a 2 hour drive east of Kenora and just under a four drive west of Thunder Bay. The local pulp and paper mill is the major employer in the area, however tourism is quickly becoming one of the regions major economic factors as well. There is regular commuter airline service to Dryden, provided by Bearskin Airlines. Wheel and float plane charter flights are also available from the area.
The area is famous for its exceptional musky fishing and there are numerous resorts, lodges and outfitters throughout the area who cater to the eager sportsmen who come to the Dryden area each year from all across North America.
